Let's draw arm anatomy! A basic understanding of human anatomy is invaluable when constructing the human body. Knowing how the muscles connect to one another can really help your figure drawing.

We need to break down the basic building blocks even further and look at the anatomy of the arm. The arm is made up of 4 main muscle groups...

The lower arm muscles all flow down from the deltoid.

I tend not to draw lots of muscles on my arms and instead just add small bits of definition to hint at the underlying muscles structure.

You can change the level of definition depending on how muscly you want your characters arms to be. So slender arms might not have much definition at all but a super muscly arm will have all the muscles groups drawn in.
