Let's start with the building blocks of the main structure. Draw a cylinder and erase the left edge. Then draw a smaller oval and a curve at either end. And finally, join everything up.
Next, draw two more cylinders (but facing the opposite direction) and attach them to either side of your original shape.
Add two more cylinders (this time pointing upwards) on top of yours emerging structure.
Now retreat this process in any combination you wish, to form the basic structure of your space station. Don't worry about adding detail yet, we'll get we'll get to that later.
Next, let's focus on the solar panels. Draw a slanted rectangle. Divide your rectangle up into sections.
Erase any unwanted lines. Draw a hexagonal tube between the top and bottom panels.
Draw another set of solar panels on the other side of your structure and your building blocks are done.
Add details to your main structure, like heat shield panels, windows, communication dishes and extra solar panels.
Add sections to your solar panels.
Lastly, add a docking space shuttle. Draw a cylinder that narrows at the end. Add a pointy nose and dividing lines.
Add wings and thrusters. Use your guides to create your final shuttle.
Add dots for stars and circles for planets to make it look like your space station is in orbit.
